On Wednesday 6th August at 7:30pm, at their normal venue, the Ipswich Group, Suffolk Family History Society welcome Richard Mann presenting “The way holidays used to be”.
As now, people in the past often tended to rush to the beach when the weather, school and works holidays allowed. People may recall men sitting in deckchairs wearing suits, with some daring to wear a knotted handkerchief on the head!
Richard looks at how holidays began, how we got there, and what we did when we got there.
Venue: The Salvation Army Citadel. 558, Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, IP4 4PH
Easy Parking at the rear.
Admission: £2 for Society members, £3 for non-members. Pay on the door and arrival. No need to pre-book – just turn up and pay with cash.
