The Martlesham Heath Control Tower Museum is open on Sunday afternoons from 7th April to October 27th 2024. The museum is open from 2pm to 4:30 every Sunday.

You can explore the fascinating history of an airfield which opened in 1917 (The Royal Flying Corps), to the RAF formed in April 1918, and eventually closed in 1962. So it was involved in two World Wars and was the prime military and civilian aircraft testing establishment between those wars. Following its time as a fighter station in World War 2 (with both British and American fighters operating), aircraft testing and development continued into the Jet Age – till its closure in 1963. The Control Tower displays a host of stories!

FREE Entry – donations appreciated.
