Ipswich Transport Museum

14th March 2026

Peter Bedwell, Museum Volunteer, reports, “It’s that time of year again. Our Winter Work programme is drawing to a close and we re-open on Sunday March 29th from 11:00 until 16:00, at the Old Trolleybus Depot, Cobham Road, Ipswich, IP3 9JD, when you can wander amongst all of our Transport and Engineering Exhibits, several of which you can go on. There are also several side exhibits to browse over as well as a vast amount of interesting ephemera on the walls of the building. Our “Sunbeam” Tea Room will be serving hot and cold drinks and light refreshments, and the Gift Shop is also open all day.

As well as most of our usual events during the year we have introduced some new events to our 2026 programme. These are a 3 day Beer Festival, a Rear Engined Bus Running Day, a 2-day Classic Bike Event and a spooky day celebrating Halloween.

All of this and we will be open every Sunday until the 6th of December except for the 3rd of May which is the 54th Ipswich/Felixstowe Vintage Vehicle Road Run.

In April we will also be open on Good Friday 3rd and Easter Monday 6th which will be our Easter Egg Trail. There will be bus rides around the local area all day during this event.

Our first School Holiday Open Days of the year will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays11:00 until 16:00 from Tuesday March 31st through until Thursday April 9th

Watch our for details of our Open Days & Special Events on a monthly basis.”
