The Martlesham Heath Aviation Society will host The Fred Yule Memorial Lecture: “The Future of Aircraft Propulsion and the Journey to Net Zero” on Friday 7th November 2025 at 7:30 p.m.

Stuart Yule MSc CEngFRAeS, who is a Business Technologist with Rolls Royce, will present the talk. In The Fred Yule Memorial Lecture, he will outline the future of aircraft engine technology, looking to answer the challenging question: How do we make aviation more sustainable.

What is the way forward? Will they go for stored electricity, or something like liquid hydrogen? Come along to the talk and find out what companies like Rolls Royce are considering.

Stuart will explain, for the layman, how jet propulsion started, and the various designs (some rather unusual) for future aircraft plus the technologies that are being worked on.

Date: Friday 7th November 2025 at 7:30 p.m.
