What Is Happening At The Ipswich Transport Museum During August And September?

Monday August 28th sees the return of the popular Ride a Fire Engine Day, when you can ride on our Fire Engines for FREE. There will also be some visiting appliances as well. Opening times for this event are 11am until 4pm

All this as well as all our usual attractions, plus the recently restored Ipswich Co-op Coal Lorry, the Czechoslovakian motor scooter, the Ferguson Tractor and the Green & Skinner Commer Flat Bed Truck. You can also follow the restoration of Ipswich Corporation Transport`s Ransomes Simms & Jefferies built single deck Trolleybus 44. In the Restoration Area you can also see the miniature wooden model of a Commer Fire Engine.

General Opening

The Museum will also be open every Sunday and on Saturday the 26th  August from 11am until 4pm.

During the school holidays we will be opening every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in August from Tuesday 1st through to Thursday 31st from 1pm until 4pm. So there is somewhere to bring your children where they can be safe, and in the dry, whatever the weather.  Again, these afternoon openings have proved to be very popular, so now is the time to get all our dates on your calendar.
