Neil Dickinson presents: Arsenic’s Toxic Legacy: People, Places, Pasts and Peppermint
In the 19th and 20th centuries, arsenic and its compounds appeared to offer marvellous solutions particularly in medicine, fashion, design and pest control so long as a blind eye was turned to the problem of its dreadful toxicity.
The talk mentions a few deliberate poisonings and the once major uses of arsenic with its supply from England in vast quantities across the world.
When: Wednesday 4th September at 7:30 pm. The evening will finish between 9:30 and 10:00 pm.
Cost: £2 for Society members, £3 for non-members. Pay on the door on arrival; no need to book.
