May and June see the Ipswich Transport Museum having several Special Events You can find them in the Old Trolleybus Depot on Cobham Rd, IP3 9JD.

They are open every Sunday from 11am until 4pm and on Bank Holiday Monday May 25th, Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th, and Saturdays June. 6th & 20th, also from 11am until 4pm.

The special events are as listed below.

Sunday 24th May is the Rear Engined Bus/Atlantean 50 Day to celebrate the museum’s Atlantean No. 6 at 50. There will be visiting buses and bus rides during the day.

 On Saturday and Sunday 6th & 7th June the museum will be celebrating everything on two wheels, including a special display of memorabilia to celebrate 75 years of Ipswich Witches

Saturday 20th June will be the regular Ipswich Transport and Model Festival when, as usual, a vintage bus service will link the museum with the Ipswich Plastic Modelers, Ipswich Railway Modelers Association HQ and the Ipswich Model Railway Centre. There is an all-inclusive ticket for the event, or regular admission to the Museum only.

All in all, a very interesting time for visitors, and a really busy one for the museum’s volunteers.

You can also visit the “Sunbeam” tea room and maybe pick up something from the well stocked Gift Shop whenever the museum is open,
