On Friday 23rd June, the Burnt Crumpet Show team welcomed three members of the Odin’s Raven Guard. Karla, Stígandr and Dave came into Ipswich Community Radio to discuss their planned March to York. During the march, the three Viking re-enactors will cover about 200 miles. The plan is to complete the walk in 5.5 days, during February 2024. The march will be a way for the foot-sore travellers to reach York in time for the Jorvik Viking festival.
The team will also be raising money for three, very worth-while, charities. Dave has opted for Zoological Society of East Anglia; Karla has selected Fibromyalgia Action UK; Stígandr’s chosen charity is York Archaeological Trust. To support the team, you can visit their JustGiving pages – they have one each: Stígandr’s is here, Dave’s is here and Karla’s is here.

A recording of our interview is available on MixCloud. It includes information about their planned route, and why they selected these charities.
Everybody at ICR wishes them success in both marching to York and in their fund raising efforts.
