The Ipswich Group, of the Suffolk Family History Society, are pleased to announce their next monthly meeting.

On Wednesday 6th April, starting at 7:30pm, Ruth Silburn will talk about her role as a Local History Recorder. She is part of an organisation which is unique to Suffolk. It aims to record the present, as well as preserving the past, in documents, photographs and recordings.

Ruth, a keen local historian has also researched the history of the Rushmere parish. This parish is adjacent to Ipswich. Ruth has looked in particular at the history of the last century.

The presentation will include the history of Rushmere. It will also show contemporary photographs, from Rushmere, of the churches, school, village hall, and some of the residential areas.

There is a large Car Park at the rear. Enter the building at the rear.

Admission £2 for Society members, £3 for non-members. No need to book – just turn up.
