Back in November, Fatal Vision released ‘Haven’t We Been Here Before’.
Fatal Vision may be a new name in the rock scene today, but the band was born back when hard rock ruled MTV and every arena from coast to coast. Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Simon Marwood and fellow founding members Chris Hirsekorn and Howie Manderson combined their love for bands Europe, Survivor and Van Halen to bring a refreshing sound to melodic rock. But life often brings unexpected changes, and Fatal Vision was put into park. Fast forward to 2019, and Marwood received an unexpected birthday gift to record at a local studio. Instead of following the well-trodden path of recording a cover song, he dusted off his numerous notebooks of songs from decades past. With the blessing of the original members, these sessions saw the Fatal Vision machine roar suddenly back to life.
The band members are exceptional – Andrew Burns (bass), Juan Miguel Gomez Montant (guitars), Scottie Irving (keyboards) and Alex Wickham (drums). Fatal Vision is a band with both the skills and the knowledge to realize a powerful musical vision.
About the track, Simon says “This song is the conclusion of the story that plays out over the Once album. It’s about second chances at love and happy endings. Something we should all get. I wrote the bulk of it back in 1989, and then wrapped up the second verse and the bridge in 2019.”
Fatal Vision are on TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Insta, Apple Music, Twitter and Spotify.

Hurricane #1 are releasing a new single, ‘The Reason’.
With a creative energy reflective of their name, Hurricane#1 swept across into the indie/Brit pop scene after emerging in 1997. Formed by Alex Lowe and former Ride Member Andy Bell, the band signed to Creation Records. Cue a lively line of singles breaching the UK Top 50, including the classic, ‘Step into my world’, and similarly well-received and successful albums across the mid to late 90’s.
The terrible news that he had cancer with a poor outlook stopped Alex in his tracks. Well for a moment as the gladiator within returned with gusto and accompanied by the guidance of Alan McGee, he reformed Hurricane#1 with a new line-up and hungrily going on to release a clutch of albums and touring the UK.
Alex entered into dialysis in November last year but of course the fighter remains, and the band are poised to send another spark through the music scene with their new album, ‘Can’t get there from here’, its release scheduled for early 2023. Alex’s prowess as vocalist/guitarist is aligned to the equally dextrous invention of bassist Mark McCinness, guitarist Richard Rapa, and drummer Chris Campbell; a unit of enterprise ready to share its own creative fighter within starting with new, three track, single ‘Autopilot Man’.
About the tracks, Alex says, “I wrote all 3 songs that are featured on the Autopilot Man single whilst sitting in dialysis to be honest. It takes 4 hours to clean my blood, so I write songs to take away the boredom in hospital!”
Hurrican#1 will be playing live, on 25th February, at West Hampstead Arts Club, London. The are on Facebook, Twitter, Insta and Spotify.
Samia released ‘Pink Balloon’ in December.
On 6th December, Samia shared two new songs from her anticipated sophomore album, ‘Honey’. That album is set for release on January 27th, 2023.
‘Pink Balloon’ and ‘Sea Lions’ are companion songs that represent different stages in the dissolution of a relationship; one from a place of perspective, and one stuck struggling in the murky waters of desperation in its immediate aftermath. The singles arrived with two powerful, thematically linked videos directed by Samia and Jacqueline Justice.
Samia says, “‘Pink Balloon’ is about trying to stay in someone’s life after it got too close and complicated. ‘Sea Lions’ is the sentiments of ‘Pink Balloon’ but less zoomed out – sitting in it, too angry to try and work it out but too sad to let it go. Remembering the good times, finding old voicemails and trying to decide where it went wrong on a loop.”
Samia has a website, at samiaband.com, and is on Twitter, Insta and Facebook.
BONG-747 will release ‘Big Brother’ on 28th January 2023.
The OMNINORM record label is extremely proud to present Big Brother, the debut maxi-single from the artist known as Bong-747. This release is officially approved by the Ministry of Truth recommended for listening by the Ministry of Love, and is also fully certified by the Thought Police. When creating this record, the actual theses developed by the participants in the momentous Congress of the Inner Party were taken into account. Remember, only those who bought and constantly listened to the Bong-747 sound recordings will not be considered unpersons, unlike consumers of some kinds of questionable and harmful music genres.
As follows from the artist’s biography, which can be found on page 344 of the list of musicians, writers, and poets officially approved by the Ministry of Truth, in his youth Bong-747 sang in the order-bearing choir named after Big Brother. Since the mid-nineties, he participated in several musical projects of a patriotic orientation and performed in front of the military personnel of the vanguard garrisons of our Glorious and Victorious Army.
The maxi-single contains the original version of Big Brother music piece, as well as five remixes of it. In the course of numerous experiments carried out by experts from the Ministry of Plenty, it was scientifically proven that listening to this release helps to boost labour productivity in factories of the military-industrial complex and increase milk yield in cattle. The Ministry of Peace, in its turn, recommends listening to this recording at official party meetings and during military manoeuvres at training grounds for armoured forces, especially so during the nation’s Hate Week.
The original version of Big Brother is featured in the music video, which can be viewed on YouTube
The Big Brother maxi-single is available digitally starting January 28. The video is coming a week later and vinyl after that. Avoid Room 101 – listen now and accept the unconditional love for Big Brother.
Glory to our Beloved Leader and to our Great Party!
BONG-747 have a li.sten.to page with links to all their social media and streaming platforms.
