Attic Theory have released new single ‘Narrow Lines’ in aid of charity CALM.
The award-winning alternative groove rockers release their moving new single ‘Narrow Lines’. It’s their second single from their highly anticipated forthcoming début album ‘What We Fear The Most’.
Attic Theory will donate 100% of the proceeds received from downloads of ‘Narrow Lines’ via their webpage to the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), charity number 1110621. CALM is a charity uniting the UK against suicide; suicide is the leading cause of death among men under the age of 45 in the UK.
Frontman Lewis Wright said: “Our aim with the ‘Narrow Lines’ song and video is to raise more awareness for all those going through difficult times in their lives. The lyrics talk about how you can feel like you’re trapped in a never-ending loop when going through troubling issues and hopefully the song will encourage the listener to reach out to CALM, who offer help, support and information to anyone who is struggling or in crisis. We are asking people to download the single from our webpage and unite against suicide. We know that the donations will not only help to change lives, it will also help save lives.”

On 11th November The Flints released ‘100 Million Lightyears’.
We’ve previously heard ‘Serengeti’ (Week 64, September 2022) from The Flints début EP ‘100 Million Lightyears’. They have now released that EP and its title track, ‘100 Million Lightyears’. For The Flints, their début EP, ‘100 Million Lightyears’, is more than an artistic opening statement. It’s a reclamation of their creativity.
A début containing galaxies, not beholden to any single era but somehow evocative of all of them, ‘100 Million Lightyears’ works on a grand scale; timeless not only in the sense that it transcends the past, but in the way that it sounds like the first, dazzling transmission from an unfathomable future. Its five tracks move between streamlined psychedelia and flamboyant dance-pop with theatrical flair.
Together, identical twin brothers George and Henry Flint are something of a sonic Swiss-army knife, having spent years as producers, songwriters and composers conjuring the visions of others. This ability to blend, chameleon-like, into the soundscapes of artists has served them well, but they soon started to feel disconnected from the underlying passion that brought them so far in the first place. The brothers were like astronauts cast adrift, estranged from their mission.
Having relocated to London from their home city of Manchester in 2020, the pair spent a year writing relentlessly. From their respective apartments they inched closer to their creative ideal with each track. But it would be Canadian producer KOZ who would be the first to listen to the material and push for the brothers to commit to it. He would go on to be their closest collaborator on the EP, and with his guidance, brought all five of its tracks into the same orbit.

Paul Etterlin released ‘A Way to Your Love’ on 11th November.
We heard ‘Secrets’ by Paul Etterlin back in June (Week 51). He has now released a new album, ‘Sleeping on a Railroad Track’ and ‘A Way to Your Love’ is from that album.

Baby Rose has recently released ‘Go’.
One of the most captivating voices of her generation, singer/songwriter Baby Rose makes her long awaited return with two new songs titled ‘Go’ and ‘Fight Club’ featuring Georgia Anne Muldrow. Both tracks are accompanied by striking visuals. Part of a new partnership with Secretly Canadian, the smoldering tracks usher in a new era for Rose, one that is daring in nature and rooted in bold authenticity and a newly found sense of self. Sonically, Rose carves out a lane for herself with this new body of work that is unrestricted by genres and showcases her extraordinary range as a skilled singer, songwriter and executive producer. This is Rose like we have never seen or heard her before.
Speaking about ‘Go’, Baby Rose says, “‘Go’ is about fighting to hold onto past love by any means necessary. That love is redefined depending on the state of mind I’m in when listening. Sometimes sourced from within (my essence and purpose), but sometimes it’s the past – people and things. The record is nostalgic. It finds me in a space fighting for the familiar and fading. This record was created in Nashville while I was in a state of peak blessings, but at the time felt fearful in the back of my mind because I knew nothing lasts forever. That is a beautiful and equally painful fact of life.”

‘Love is a Reason’ was released on 11th November. It’s by FeelX and features Jessy Howe.
We’ve heard a number of tracks by Jessy Howe in the past (‘Soul Food’ with Vikings of Blue in Week 14, ‘I Am Love’ with Valentina Velkova in Week 18, ‘Sea of Humanity’ with Felix Waldispühl in Week 40 and ‘Eternal’ in Week 56). Now the Swiss-born singer has teamed up with her fellow countryman, FeelX, to bring us ‘Love is a Reason’.
FeelX is an independent musician from Zürich. His love of prog-rock, ambient, fusion and pop all fall into place while writing and producing tracks. His songs are instrumental or vocal with many instruments and textures.

Jessy Howe was born in Switzerland and grew up in the South West of England. As a professional singer and songwriter she performs and records in Switzerland and throughout Europe.

John Carr released ‘The Angels Came Down’ on 11th November.
Singer/songwriter John Carr is based in Essex, England. A working musician all of his life, John Carr can claim to have worked with the likes of Elton John, Mike & The Mechanics, Elkie Brooks and many more. Now one of the creative forces behind alt-country band Brand A, and recently signed to the Creative & Dreams label, John Carr has branched out as a solo artist. Preston D Barnes’ ‘Add a Little You’ is available now.
2022 has been quite a year for emerging UK country music superstar Preston D Barnes. Since his début single hit the No.2 spot in the iTunes Country Music Charts, the former soldier from Lancashire has been on a whirlwind journey. Three subsequent singles have gone on to surpass all expectations including the most recent climbing to No.1. His rise to prominence has been quite unprecedented. It includes a nomination for the Best UK Male Vocalist at this year’s BCMA Awards!

The Ormidales released ‘Devils and Angels’ on 14th November
We’ve heard from The Ormidales before, most recently we heard ‘Waiting For Catherine to Call’ back in April (Week 42)

John Simsic has just finished this new production of Carole Sager and Marvin Hamlisch ‘Through the Eyes of Love’. The lead singer is Valerie Ann Zocchi of Hungarian descent. John Simsic is with PB Sound Productions.
Shelley Hamilton has recently released ‘Think on Me’.
Singer/songwriter Shelley Hamilton is based in Toronto, Canada. Having worked internationally from Dubai to Japan and on award winning albums, Shelley Hamilton now releases her new single ‘Think On Me’. It is a folk-soul version of Portia White’s iconic song from the 1940’s.
